#clientradtrad

October 18, 2016

Hey party people! So if you follow me on IG you saw a glimpse into my project “Client Rad Trad” and read my conundrum about whether I save it for that book I am supposed to be writing (HA!) or should I debut the pics now, and then ALSO put them in the book??  Well your response was an overwhelming PUT IT OUT NOW FOOL!

Because I am a real sucker for peer pressure, and giving the peoples what the peoples wants….I am officially introducing #ClientRADTRAD!!

This house was a ground up new construction build. When I was brought on to help, the owners were being led down a funky design path. Think glass “accent tile” in browns and weird yellow tones that made ZERO sense to the style and taste of this young hip family of 5. I pissed almost everybody off (mainly the builder and co.)  and not only changed all the materials I could, but ripped out a lot of what was already selected. The clients knew they didn’t like the way the designs were going, but were emotionally and financially invested in what had already been chosen, so i forcefully inserted my opinion, and made major changes. Thank GAWD I DID.  This house was a monster of a job, but I really love it! It’s my version of “traditional” which infuses a bunch of bohemian accents, killer rugs, and of course a neutral palette. I went bold with wallpaper in the Master bedroom, and went dark in the dining room, and somehow managed to make 7,000 sq. feet of house feel like a quaint little cozy cottage!

Here are the highlights from my shoot with the one and only ride or die .

  1. This is amazing!! I was wondering if you could share where the coffee table in the family room is from? I have a young family of my own and that looks less dangerous than the wood and metal tables I’ve seen. Thanks in advance!!

  2. This home is so gorgeous- you killed it once again!! Thank goodness you were able to swoop in and save them from the horror of yellow and brown glass tile! Who in their right mind thought that would be a good choice!? PS- I have a huge fan girl crush on you and everything you touch. Your knack for staging is like no other. I too am obsessed with interior design and hope to make a profession of it one day. Any advice on how to make that happen??

  3. OMGOMGOMGOMG! Dying!!! Amber! You must do like ten “get the looks” for this house. Holy cow are they so thankful that you came in, or what? It is absolutely beautiful. Where do you find this gorgeous furniture and is that tile or wallpaper behind the mirror in the master?

  4. I love this house and really (really, really) love the blue couches in the living room and the bedroom. Can you tell me where these are from? Great job, as usual!
