//Before and After: Client Sandy Castles//

June 23, 2015

Obvs I have said it a million times…but I love a good BEFORE + AFTER and guess what…..It’s time for another one!!!  Can I just say I absolutely loved working with and adored these easygoing clients that I dubbed #ClientSandyCastles! This house was such a huge transformation turning from a dark and dated space into a light and airy breezy beach pad. I was lucky enough to get to work with architect extraordinaire and dream contractor Luke of   who made this project SO great to work on. I have said it before and I am saying  it again, working with talented trades, and really trusting and easy-going clients make for the BEST projects, and Sandy Castles was no exception. It was a really amazing job from start to finish.

So what did we do? Well this house was completely renovated. New kitchen, new layouts, new floors, removed walls, added rooms and a bathroom for their sweet little kiddos. I love how every part of  this home turned out – especially the kitchen and the adorable kids’ rooms. Take a looksie and tell me what y’all think!!

There is still some other parts of the house that we will reveal….but for now this is the majority of the inside. Hope you like it!!!

  1. Wow, this house is a dream. I have a question that might be a good blog post topic for a rainy day. As a designer, how are you able to influence your aesthetic so much into a project from A to Z? Every detail seems to be so fluid and one of my struggles is getting a client to let go of some of their “vision” so that we can actually finish, down to the artwork and accessories. Often times they want to take over after a certain point after the bigger work is done and in my mind, the project remains very much unfinished. If that makes sense….? Thanks!

    1. I would also love to know your secret for this! I realize that it could partially be staging for the photographs, but it does seem like you are able to leave your stamp on the project from start to finish. Is this part of your contract in the beginning?

  2. Another amazing job! Would you mind telling me the white paint you used throughout? Also, where is the Capiz chandelier from? Thanks again for some inspiration!

  3. Wow -fantastic transformation! I just recently discovered your blog & I’ve found that your interiors really strike a chord with me. I particularly like how all the spaces maintain their own personalities but coexist beautifully with one another. You have a knack for introducing just a few key colorful moments of cheerfulness that almost make the rooms hum/buzz..? (You might even be teaching my eye -which currently loves me a room fUll of colorful art and high contrasts- that sometimes, less really is more…) Congrats on another lovely, aspirational space! Sincerely, emily jane
